TEKTRO was founded in Taiwan in 1986 and built its reputation around bicycle braking systems. The company develops and manufactures rim and disc brakes with extensive in-house production, covering calipers, levers, rotors and related control hardware across BMX and wider cycling disciplines. TEKTRO has also expanded into drivetrain products, but braking remains the core of the name and the area in which riders most commonly encounter it. The brand’s approach is manufacturing-led and practical: dependable bicycle controls produced across a wide range of performance levels, from everyday complete-bike equipment through to more specialised braking systems.
