Profile Racing grew from the Alley family’s Florida racecar fabrication business into BMX component manufacturing after the family became involved in BMX racing in the late 1970s. Profile produced its first three-piece chromoly BMX crankset in 1979 and went on to develop hubs, stems, sprockets and other high-end components around machining, serviceability and long-term production. The company continues to design and manufacture BMX parts from its St. Petersburg, Florida facility. Profile’s reputation is closely tied to products that can be rebuilt and maintained rather than treated as disposable, giving the brand a distinctive place across BMX racing and freestyle.
